how to write a good speech is about learning how to visualize the speech being read out loud in front of many people. To start, you need to be precise and sure about the following:
  • Topic - Learning how to write a good speech involves knowing WHAT it is that you should talk about. In essence, what is the over-all message of your speech?
  • Audience - To whom is you speech addressed?
  • Context - Where and when will the speech be delivered? How long should it be? Where will your audience be coming from before they listen to your speech? This is a very important aspect of learning how to write a good speech that many people forget.

How To Write a Good Speech: Introduction

After taking note of the three things mentioned above, the next step in writing a good speech is thinking of a good introduction. Your introduction is the f
irst thing that people will hear. More often than not, your introduction will help people decide whether they should listen to your speech until the very end, or make excuses (e.g. going to the washroom) to avoid listening to your speech. Learning how to write good speeches is about STARTING WITH A BANG.

Effective introductions include stories, anecdotes, powerful quotes, etc.

How To Write a Good Speech: Body
Now that you've captured your audience's attention, the next step is to inspire them with what you have to say. The key to learning how to write a good speech body is learning how to write and of course, speak with passion. No matter how good your introduction was, a lame speech due to lack of passion will always be a bad speech. Use powerful words to keep the interest of your audience. In the first part, How To Write a Good Speech: Essentials, it was mentioned that context is very important to take note. Now, use this knowledge to think of the best ways to approach your audience.

Another thing: simplify, simplify, simplify! Unless you are delivering your speech to a bunch of extremely smart people, it's always best to use the simplest versions of words as much as possible.

How To Write a Good Speech: Ending
One of the more important parts to master in learning how to write a good speech is that of writing a good ending. This is the last thing that your audience will hear, and this is what your audience will remember. Reserve your most powerful lines for this part. Make your audience shiver. Make the hair on the back of their necks stand! This is what you will be remembered for. This will be your legacy. Oftentimes, this part will separate memorable speeches from another waste of people's precious time.

As much as starting with a bang is important, never ever forget to END WITH A BANG.

BANG.

How To Write A Good Introduction Paragraph

Learning how to write a good introduction entails complete mastery of the subject matter that you are writing about. Oftentimes, the introduction is used to lure people to reading what you wrote, or listening to what you have to say. For academic purposes, it is also important to write a good introduction for a research paper, as well writing a good introduction for any type of essay. The introduction paragraph is like the bait that you attach to the end of a hook when trying to catch a fish.

How To Write A Good Essay Introduction
The key to writing a good essay introduction paragraph is that of knowing how to CATCH THE ATTENTION of people. This can be done by first asking a question to your reader. This technique is used to spark interest and curiosity in your readers. Aside from this, you can also begin with a good quote as long as it is related to your topic. Make your introduction as brief as possible, because long introductions tend to bore people.

You can use any introductory style that you wish, as long as you never sway from the real purpose of the introduction: to give your readers a BRIEF OVERVIEW of the subject matter that you will be talking about.

Imagine pursuing a degree in Management, when ever since a child you've already dreamed of becoming a Philosophy major.

Imagine writing about the current state of the economy, when you know practically nothing about it because you're not passionate about it.

IT IS HARD.

It is always best to begin with what you are passionate about. Learning how to write good stuff is about knowing the root of everything- your passion.

Think for a second about what you are passionate about. Are you doing something about it?

The heart knows.
