Destiny

When writing, we should always be open to committing mistakes. Same goes with life - we can never learn and we never will grow if we don't allow ourselves to commit mistakes and be hurt.

Everyday, many things happen. They can be good; they can be bad. Oftentimes, we blame them on the Man up there, but sometimes, we also blame them on destiny.

Destiny is a higher power or the ultimate agency that predetermines the course of events. It is like the conductor of a train which dictates where the train will head, and how it will go to that single destination. If the conductor wants the train to turn left, then it will turn left. The same if the conductor wants the train to turn right; he can make it do so. As well, the conductor can choose if he wants the train to go fast, or slow.

People also often see destiny as the reason for what is happening to them at any point in their lives. For instance, when one wins in the lottery, or in any game of chance, we would often here the winner say: “It’s destiny,” or anything like that.

For many people, destiny is always there to blame for the things that happen to them. Yes, destiny is always there to dictate what will happen to us, but, that doesn’t mean we could not do anything about it.

In the end, the future still lies in our hands, and not on Mr. Destiny’s hands. As the famous singer Bob Marley once said: “Every man gotta right to decide his own destiny.”
